General
New Find function that finds tasks given a partial task name. It is case insensitive, the order of the words is not important, and it works with partial words. For example, searching for “spec test” will find a task named “Tester specification”. All tasks matching the input are displayed at once (it is not like MS Project Find where you step through each match).
Export New Actions option added to the Add Action ribbon and the right mouse-click menu
Default number of columns displayed moved to General in fastProject Options (was previously only invoked for the critical path)
FTTM Maturity Guide added to the FTTM documentation
Status bar now displays change, so the change and average trend are still visible when the ribbon is closed
“Add Risk” added to the Notes and right-mouse click menu, allowing a user to add risk to a task
Build
Macro Plan Template renamed to Milestone Matrix Template
Conversion from 5-day to 7-day schedule improved by taking Task Calendars and updated tasks into account. It also checks at the end to confirm the Finish dates align, reporting errors when they do not.
Milestone Timeline Template (PDF) added
AI assisted macro planning flow (PDF) added
Update
Update Report column width modified to look better on Google Sheets
Update Report now automatically saved and closed if open before updating
Update Report is now closed (and not saved) if a new one is generated, solving the problem of having multiple Update Reports open if generated multiple times
Wigglechart
Actions are now exported before the Wigglechart is run, so closed actions do not appear in the Wigglechart actions list
Wigglechart now automatically saved and closed if open before updating
Action Log now automatically saved and closed if open before updating
Option added to sort Targets by ID rather than largest change in the Wigglechart Dashboard
Notebook
New Notebook replaces the Action Log. It includes the Action Log, Risk Log, Interrupt Log, Decision Log, fastDecision and Cost of Delay. For those that do not have fastDecision or Cost of Delay, a “Log” file has everything above except fastDecision and Cost of Delay.
The Notebook functionality is located in the TOOLS tab
Action Log
The task name in the Action Log is now changed to match the schedule if it changed
Inspector
Improved Critical Path Analysis now displays trending information for all critical paths. When invoked, it sets the critical path to display near-term critical paths and displays the critical path. This can be turned on and off in fastProject Options > Critical Path > Use Near-term Critical Paths. Date formats have also changed to be universal (dd-mmm-yy).
Trend for critical path peels now displayed in the Inspector. Clicking the trend button displays a small trend chart for the current peel. Mousing over the button displays the task name and ID, and the dropdown allows you to show the baseline for any previous update (an arrow points to the earliest update for the current peel), or brings up the Scroll through history function.
Bug fixed where calculating the critical path could cause fastProject to crash if the project spanned more than 4-5 years and there were many tasks in the schedule
Critical Path Analysis report is now closed (and not saved) if a new one is generated, solving the problem of having multiple Critical Path Analysis reports open if generated multiple times
Resources
Added functionality to check for double-counted resources
