Eisenhower's quote Is perhaps the best idea conceived about planning. All to often we tend to focus on the result of the thinking process (a plan, the decision), but the human interaction, the give and take, and having to live the problem before-the-fact is much more important to the success of a venture than the electronic result (a plan or a decision model).
